APO-Direct Assay

The Phoenix Flow Systems. APO-DIRECT reagent kit is a two color TUNEL(Terminal deoxynucleotide transferase dUTP Nick End Labeling) assay for measuring apoptosis by labeling the DNA breaks occurring during the apoptotic pathway and total cellular DNA to detect apoptotic cells by flow cytometry or laser scanning cytometry. The apoptosis parameter is measured with the green fluorescence channel of the flow cytometer and the DNA content is measured with the red fluorescence channel. The difference between our Apo-BrdU and the Apo-Direct kit is one extra 20 minute incubation and ten less assays. The Apo-Direct kit has one less incubation step, for a slight loss in sensitivity and ten less assays in the kit.

The 50 assay Apo-Direct kit contains the instructions and reagents required for measuring apoptosis in cells including;5 positive and 10 negative control cells for assessing reagent performance; washing, reaction and rinsing buffers for processing individual steps in the assay; terminal deoxynucleotidyl tranferase enzyme (TdT), fluorescein isothiocyanate(FITC) deoxyuridine triphosphate (FITC-dUTP) for labeling DNA breaks and propidium iodide/RNase A solution for counter staining the total DNA.
